Chapter
I/ VII
Jalisco, Mexico
Chapter I A small town in Jalisco
Everybody comes with a dream.
Edgar Andres Larios grew up in a small town in the Mexican state of Jalisco. Landscaping ran in the family. The decision to leave was the same one millions make: build a better life, and send some of it home.
Jalisco, Mexico · where it began
“I think everybody decides to come here with a dream, and everybody comes here to help their family to get better in Mexico.”Edgar Andres Larios · Fox 5 Las Vegas
Chapter II Age 15 · Las Vegas, Nevada
No English. No home. A metal shed.
He arrived at fifteen with, as he puts it, one hand in front and one behind. No language, no place to stay, no guarantee. His first bed in America was a metal shed from Home Depot, in the cold. He enrolled in high school anyway and finished in two and a half years.
Age 15 · a metal shed for a bedroom
“I used to cry myself to sleep. I was sleeping in one of those metal sheds they sell at Home Depot. It was very cold, and I was very lonely.”Edgar Andres Larios · Fox 5 Las Vegas
Chapter III First job
Digging irrigation trenches by hand.
His first job was in the field, digging trenches for irrigation lines. That ditch is where he learned the trade, the language, and the definition of work he still teaches today.

“Hard work is doing what you said you'd do. Even when you're tired, even if you don't want to do it, and you're still doing it. That's hard work.”Edgar Andres Larios · Fox 5 Las Vegas
Chapter IV Thirty years in the trade
Laborer. Foreman. CEO. Three times.
Thousands of projects across the Las Vegas Valley. He climbed from the crew to the corner office at three different companies, doubling one from $4 million to $8 million in revenue and lifting its profit fifteen to twenty percent. He earned his Certified Arborist and Certified Tree Safety Professional credentials along the way.
Laborer · foreman · CEO, three times
“I worked for different companies from being a laborer to becoming a CEO. For three different companies… with no experience, no English, no nothing, just with the goal to be somebody.”Edgar Andres Larios · in his own words
Chapter V May 2022 · High End Companies
One lawnmower. Eighty thousand in debt.
After three decades working for other people he took a leap of faith and started his own company with a lawnmower and a few yards to cut. He opened the doors $80,000 in debt, borrowed from a friend and his father-in-law, with a year to pay it back.
Where it started · father and son

Chapter VI Four years later
Nearly twenty people. Two million a year.
High End Companies grew on word of mouth alone. No ads, ever. Today it runs commercial and residential landscaping across the valley, holds a BBB A+ rating, and in March 2026 Fox 5 Las Vegas sent a camera to the job site to tell the story.

Chapter VII Now
Giving it back. The Larios Effect.
With the company established, his next goal is the one he calls a revelation: give something back to his community. He mentors the next generation of Latino entrepreneurs, puts owners and crews in the same conversation, and helps the people who do the work become the owners and leaders of their community.
On stage · The Larios Effect
“…there's a lack of communication between the laborers that do the work and the owners of the companies… I want to make sure we empower our community to become more business owners, become leaders of the community.”Edgar Andres Larios · in his own words
